"Yarden", in Hebrew, is the River Jordan.
The river flows into the Dead Sea and is considered to be one of the world‘s most sacred rivers. It originates from the slopes of Mount Hermon, in the north of Israel.
Along its course, the Jordan feeds two lakes: the "Chulla" and the Sea of Galilee.
The site "Yardenit", is a baptismal site on the sacred Jordan River.
Pilgrims from the all over the world come to the Holy Land and to the "Yardenit" site for a specific purpose: to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and to be part of baptism.
At the site, baptismal rites are conducted in a different manner than in Christian churches; it is carried out in the very same simple, modest ad humble manner that Jesus had done in the past: by following him through the waters of the river and thus getting baptized.
