As Arnold Dorsey, Humperdinck was one of ten children born in India, to a British Army officer. His family moved to England, when he was 10, and a year later he showed an interest in music and began learning the saxophone. He started work as an apprentice engineer and by the early 1950s he was playing the instrument in nightclubs, but he is believed not to have tried singing until he was 17 and friends coaxed him into entering a pub contest. His impression of Herry Lewis prompted friends to begin calling him "Gerry Dorsey," a name he worked under for almost a decade. Humperdinck is an Anglo-Indian- his mother being of Indian heritage.

Humperdinck—who changed his name legally to his stage name at the height of his career —hit the top five British album charts in 2000 with Engelbert At His Very Best, and returned to the top five four years later, after he appeared in a John Smiths TV-advertisement.

The Chicago blues is a form of blues music that developed in Chicago, Illinois, by taking the basic acoustic guitar and harminica-based Delta blues, making the harmonica louder with a microphone and an instrument amplifier and adding electrically amplified guitar, drums, piano and other instruments. 

The music developed in the first half of the twentieth century due to the African Americams when Black workers moved from the South into the industrial cities of the North such as Chicago.

Originally, the Chicago Blues was street-corner based music. But after the music quickly gained popularity, it became a giant commercial enterprise.

The team is currently made up of about 100 members (including actors, technical teams, production and marketing staff), from over 32 different countries around the world.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo is an American all-male drag ballet corps which parodies the conventions and clichés of romantic and classical ballet. The company was co-founded by Peter Anastos, Natch Taylor and Antony Bassae in New York City in 1974, producing small, late-night shows, in off-off Broadway lofts. Their first show was on September 9, 1974, at a second story loft on 14th street, in the heart of the meat-packing district.

Israel Festival - Celebrating its Jubilee

In the beginning, Originally, the Israel Festival was founded in 1961 by Aaron Zvi Propes, as a summer music festival that took place in the ancient Roman theatre in Caesarea. In years to follow, the program has broadened to include all the performing arts, performing all over the country.

In 1982 the city of Jerusalem decided to embrace the festival and ever since, the majority of performances have been held in Jerusalem.

The Festival takes place annually, for several  weeks during spring. Performing artists arrive from all over the world to take part in the various areas of the artistic arts: Dance, Theater, Jazz, Classical Music and various other special events.

The Red Sea Jazz Festival (RSJF) was established in 1987 as a four day international Jazz festival with guest-artists and nightly Jam sessions.

Since then, the festival has been held on an annual basis in the last week of August.
